HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY JOLYN LOVERS // here are 6 self-love tips 🌹❤️
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to our girl squad! Whether you have a special someone to share today with or not, we could all do with some more self-love in our lives. Here are six fun ways to show yourself a little love, 'cause you deserve it girlfriend! 💕
This Valentine's Day, remember to take the time to indulge in things that you're passionate about or that excite you (or in your fave treats 😉)! These things fill you with positive energy and help you to get the most out of other aspects of your life. It can be difficult to find time between school, training, work etc. to do these things when you're on your daily grind, so Valentine's Day is the perfect excuse!
Part of practicing self-love is giving yourself permission to prioritise your own needs. Sometimes this can be tricky due to external pressures and the expectations of others, but knowing when to say 'no', take a break, or prioritise your needs in any other way is essential. 'You time' is so necessary.
Self-love is all about taking care of your body, mind and soul, and the people you spend your time with can have huge impact on how you feel about yourself. So this Valentine's Day (and every other day), choose to spend time with people who radiate positive energy, inspire and elevate you!
Avoid getting sucked into the black hole of scrolling this Valentine's Day, especially if seeing everyone else's V. day posts is going to leave you feeling a bit down. Plus, social media is literally the last thing you want to spend your time on when you’re practising self care! We all spend waaay too much time on our devices, so treat your brain to a break from technology and allow it to recharge, you won't regret it.
Choosing to nourish your body with healthy, wholesome foods is one of the most important forms of self love. A great way to practise this is to get in the kitchen and cook up a storm with all your favourite ingredients and recipes! Not only are you fuelling your body with all that incredible goodness, indulging in a delicious meal is one of the best ways to treat yourself, even if it's only a simple recipe. Focus on consuming the foods that make you feel and perform your best in every day life.
Whether you receive a love letter from a Valentine or not, self-love and appreciation is still SO important, and often something we overlook. This Valentine's Day, take some time to write down all of the things that you admire about yourself. Focus on your unique strengths, as this will help you to appreciate yourself and be grateful for all your qualities.
It's important to practise self-love today and every day, so remember to take time out for YOU!
