What keeps you motivated to be active and healthy?

I am so much happier when I am active and working hard. When I finished my college swimming career, I was itching to work toward a new goal after just a few weeks.

What is your favorite dryland workout? (If you have a specific circuit or Cross Fit workout you like, let us know so we can share):

I love a relaxing yin yoga session to give my body a lil tlc.

What is your favorite water work out i.e. swimming, water polo, ocean swim, surf session, SUP (if you have a specific swim set you like, please share):

My recent favorite is ocean swimming! I love working on navigating the surf and because I am so new to the sport, I have a lot to practice.

What activities do you do in JOLYN:

Pool swimming, ocean swimming, surfing (if you can call what I do surfing), yoga, running, and anything on the beach!

What's your favorite JOLYN color:

French Mulberry

What's your favorite JOLYN style and why:

I love the triangle top! It’s great for going for a morning swim and then hanging on the beach the rest of the day.

What are 3 things on your bucket list?

  1. Road trip across Australia
  2. Learn to scuba dive
  3. Hike a volcano

If you were 60 years old, what would you tell your children?

Encourage others.  Don’t feel the need to compare yourself to anyone else. Most importantly, enjoy each experience.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

Deciding to move from the USA to Australia. I thought it would be much harder to do, but once you commit to something and figure out what you have to do to make it work, the rest is easy.

What would we find in your refrigerator right now?

Cheese, eggs, watermelon, yogurt, zucchini, and chocolate.

What motivates you?

My teammates. My family. My coaches. Trusting in the process. I think having even one good race can give you the confidence to keep going, keep training, because if you can do that, then just imagine what is in store if you keep working.

What's the most inspiring race you've ever seen?

I’ve always loved Jason Lezak’s anchor leg in the men’s 4x100 free 2008 Olympics. This year, Maya Dirado’s 200 Back was also inspiring. Her surprise and joy at the finish reminds me why I love the sport so much.

What would you spend your last $10 on?

Coffee x2

What is your signature dish in the kitchen?

Anything Mexican! Tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, Fajitas… you name it, I’ll put guacamole on it.

What is the most important part of a sandwich?

The cheese!!

 Favorite holiday destination?

I just got bit by the travel bug so I definitely can't pick one just yet.
