INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY // confidence starts here 💪

Today is International Women's Day, a day to break the bias:

"Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias."

We put the call out on Instagram to hear your stories of having been judged, discriminated against, stereotyped and shamed for the sport that you do, or the body that carries you through those activities. The replies were heavy, they were raw, and they emphasised that we as female athletes still have a damn long way to go before any sort of equality and inclusivity occurs in our world.

Watch our International Women's Day reel here for a tiny snapshot of how our JOLYN customers (just a mere fraction of the women in the world) have faced inequality and gender bias on the daily.

Maybe your athletic chest is "flat", maybe the boobs you were blessed with are too big so you "won't ever swim fast", maybe your strong shoulders are too broad and "manly" and your speedy hips too "skinny" and narrow (unlike the womanly figure we're all meant to aspire to), maybe your "huge" hard-working thighs make you "fat", maybe you're "too short" to be an athlete... whatever stereotypical body it is that you don't fit into, our styles can break that bias and will have you splashing out feeling more confident, more feminine, and more yourself - the strong, inspiring woman you are.

We are stronger as one. Have each other's back, respect each other's bodies, and together, collectively, let's keep raising awareness and help #BreakTheBias
