KEELY ANDREW // International Surfing Day 2020 🏄♀️🌊
For International Surfing Day this year, we reached out to Australian Pro Surfer Keely Andrew for an insight into her journey, how she found her love for surfing, and the ways in which the sport has helped her grow.
Keely grew up in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast, where she first started surfing at just FIVE years old, and immediately fell in love. As a result of her admirable determination, drive, and work ethic over the years, Keely found success in many sports as a teen. By age 16, she was absolutely killin' it in both tennis and surfing, but when it came down to picking one or the other, Keely had just placed runner-up in the Australian Junior Surf Titles, so she chose to pursue surfing. And what an incredible ride it has been for her so far.
Since focusing on one sport, surfing has taken Keely to some incredible places. Throughout her career, she's competed and placed highly at many pro events around the world, making a name for herself on the international stage. A few highlights of Keely's career have included knocking out Stephanie Gilmore and Sally Fitzgibbons to finish third place at the Maui Women’s Pro in 2016, and completing the 2017 Women’s Championship Tour ranked 11th after making her first CT final, to name a few. At this point, Keely is unstoppable.
