KEEP YOURSELF ENTERTAINED // fun things to do at home!🌟😜
Life as we know it has changed drastically over the past couple of weeks. Major sporting events have been cancelled or postponed, training venues have had to close, and pretty much everything else we do outside the house only a daily basis, we currently can't do. We're living in the unknown which is difficult and scary, but we're all in this together, so let's make the most of what we DO have!
Last week, we asked our IG followers what activities they were planning to do at home for the next little while, and we had so many awesome responses that we wanted to share some with you! If you're in need of a little inspiration for what to do while you're stuck at home, here's a list of fun activities you should keep handy! ✨
With Skype & FaceTime 📱, you're never far away from your loved ones. Thanks to the hilarious joys of modernised chatroom technology (comment below if you're old enough to remember MSN), you can now get even closer and laugh harder than ever before - from afar - with House Party. Play games, share screens, get notified when your friends are online, this app is the shizz. Look it up.
We asked around the office for places our team couldn't get enough of and why.. read on for inspiration to add to your bucket list:
JESS // LEVANTO, Italy. The hike between Levanto and Monterosso along the Cinque Terre coast is something else. It's still relatively non-touristy, giving it such a genuine small town feel. Added bonus, the spritzers are delish.
JEMIMA // MILOS, Greece. A little-known island of the Cyclades with the whiter-than-white beaches and sparkling turquoise waters. Such a picturesque, isolated little spot with an authentic community vibe; feels worlds away from the tourist hotspots.
MOLLY // SOUTH EAST ASIA. Simply put, "for the food". Because who doesn't love a real deal Nasi Goreng. There's also so many wild and wonderful adventures to be had - from visiting the many wondrous temples and incredible island pockets, wading through traditional rice paddies and fruit markets, and indulging in sunset seafood feasts on the beach.
SARAH // ISLA MUJERES, Mexico. Hands down the most amazing tiny island off the coast of Cancun. Hire beach buggies and zip around all day, hang out in hammocks on the beach with a piña colada in hand, or head out on a boat to swim with literally HUNDREDS of whale sharks in their natural habitat - life changing.
TARA // NEW ZEALAND. Tara is lowkey obsessed with climbing things, so NZ tops her travel list due to it's diverse and out-of-this-world hiking trails. Her favourite so far has been the Kepler Track, right down the bottom of the South Island. She did this 60km hike in two days (it's meant to take double that time), and then proceeded to lose all but one toenail because her feet were in so much trauma from slogging out such a ridiculous distance in such a short amount of time. If the Kepler Track makes it onto your travel list, don't do a Tara. Take the four days and save your tootsies.
Go ahead and start a new painting or drawing. If you've never done art before, don't worry! Udemy has some awesome and relatively cheap online courses to teach you all the basics. We're also loving colour by numbers apps - here's a list of the highest rated right now, or search your app store for other colourfully fun games you can do on your phone, but be careful... they're addictive! 👩🎨🎨
The sheer volume of free or low-cost fitness apps options is pretty awesome, but also kinda overwhelming. We really feel for all you athletes who can't access your usual training facilities at the moment! With pools, gyms, other training venues and sports clubs being out of action, you might have to try some new activities to keep yourself fit for when you are able to go back to training! Whether you're a swimmer, surf life saver, or participate in any sport that requires some base level fitness, going for a couple of runs a week could help you maintain this. You don't have to go fast or far to gain a benefit, just run to what feels good for your body, and remember to ease into it if you don't usually run much! 🏃♀️
We definitely don't recommend you do this... but please do watch this entertaining video about a guy in Sydney who ran a half marathon on his BALCONY to raise money for health care workers, where there's a will there's a way! 🤯👏

Small businesses need your help now more than ever! If you are able to, try to buy local as much as possible, and support your fave brands. Whether it's ordering takeaway from your local cafe or restaurant, buying a bunch of flowers from a florist to give to your mum, or finally purchasing that shirt you've had your eye on, every little bit makes a difference. Peas, potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, and beans are labelled as foolproof on the "Vegetable Gardening for Dummies Cheat Sheet" but like, we won't judge if your potatoes don't potate. It's all new to us too.
